title: Upsize!

The past few days have been really, like really, busy!

G'ET ME A FILET-O-FISH STUDENT MEAL UPSIZE CHANGE COKE TO SPRITE!
Sounds like a Macdonald's order? Think again man. It's my OG group name. HAHAHA. There's one group which is called G'reat people who are to great for a short OG name. Or something.

Orientation has been fun (but super tiring) so far! ;) My OG's cool and it's great fun hanging out with them. We literally spend the whole day together! That's why they say we'll be very close; they're the first batch of real strangers you meet in JC and you spend so much of your initial JC life with them.

Joel and I are the 公公婆婆. Haha. It'll be great if we can continue to meet throughout JC life to catch up, because frankly, after orientation, we won't be seeing each other around much anymore...

Saturday was one crazy day for me. Touch rugby trials, canoeing water clinic (and somewhere in between here I realised I left my shoe bag in school), paintball, lunch, YA and my family birthday celebration. I was completely shagged after. But we had a helluva time during paintball whoohoo!

Should I sign up for Rproject as a model :D

Alright. This week's gonna be another long week.

title: Well well that wasn't quite so bad

I had a dim sum treat today at Din Tai Fung with Anna, Evan, Sam, Joni, Deb and Nancy, the other birthday girl haha! I think this is like the first time (that I remember) eating there. The food was quite good! Especially the requisite xiao long bao :D I can't really decide whether theirs or Crystal Jade's is better though. I liked the yam bao and the fried rice!

SNaPP was pretty lame though...although what the trainer said at the last part was meaningful. The activities were...so-so haha.

I went for canoeing land trials today. Luckily Anna signed up too! Till last night, I thought I was the lone ranger (among my friends at least) going for today's trials. And good thing too, 'cause we were the only 2 girls who went today! (Sounds like a deja vu of yesterday's kayaking elective hahaha!) We were wandering around feeling like extreme noobs because as far as we could make out, the field/stadium area only contained boys training for soccer. Until one of the guys asked Anna whether we were there for the canoeing trials.

So we sat there thinking about what they would make us do. Haha! Trials turned out to be quite fun, though, eventually, seeing as there were only 2 of us. (The boys were a different story heh.) We kinda trained with the J2 girls, and they are very nice! Hope I get in... ~

I had a great birthday yesterday (:

Went to church in the morning and had quite a serious Crossover session haha. It's great that quite a lot of people came :D At the end they all sang a song for me and brought out a nice cake with blueberry jam on top (my favourite!!!!) with fruits inside. I was like licking the jam from the plate HAHA.

After church we went for lunch at ichibanboshi at parkway. It was my first time eating there but the food was pretty good, although slightly on the expensive side. Hehh. After that I went to one of the nearby shops to buy a funkayyyye hat as a backup in case my balloon one didn't work out. The funky hats are so cheap! Haha!

I went over to my grandma's place to make mine and Abi's balloon hats. And I finally succeeded after bursting a few or pumping them to the wrong length. ): And while I was there, I received a prank call from some naughty friends of mine! Their sense of humour is amazing HAHA! Especially the clinic part :O

Mel and Adele's party was funny hahaha! Everyone wore really interesting hats and outfits and we really had a lot of fun! They 'nominated' a few people to do catwalks. I originally wasn't one of them but yesterday being my birthday, I had to :O

Well anyway, I'm just really thankful that God has given me 17 brilliant years of life and that He has given me family and friends whom I cherish (: Thank you to everyone for the wishes, the notes, the presents an the joy you have given me in whatever way that you chose to make my 17th special!

(Unfortunately i didn't bring my camera yest so I had to kope from fb haha!)
Balloonz ftw!
Cowboy haha.
Kevin's gun was quite a hit! it had real rubber sucker bullets so cool right! Haha!
Today's kayaking elective at Macritchie was really fun too :D Ok, I'm kinda shagged. I have canoeing trials tomorrow

title: It's complicated

Hi.

It has been an eventful week in more ways than one. The first major thingy was my Humanz Scholarship interview :O It was, thankfully, a nerve-wracking but, nevertheless, fulfulling encounter. But I've talked about that.

Wednesday was spent chilling...I went to church on Thursday for leaders' training and planning for Sunday's programme. There's this thing about changing Crossover to the afternoon and I'm really quite torn about having to serve and to have enough time for schoolwork (when it starts proper) and the like. QT this morning was apt - don't quit; when you feel like it, listen to God speak and He will reveal what I can do in His strength. I shall wait on Him then (:

The other big thing is (oh horror I feel like an inadequate Sec 1 all over again) CCA trials. So far I've signed up for about 5 that need trial-ing; I just put my name down for Band, Photog and Hissoc. And I wish I had examined all the trial dates for everything I want to try out for before actually signing up for anything 'cause I so enthusiastically confirmed my Canoeing one, after which I realised that the only Touch Rugby trial clashed with it. Haha.

Ok, but I've solved my problem. They say there's gonna be another (unofficial) one next Saturday morning (oh man) so I guess I'll just have to go for that one. Before paintball! Whoohoo HAHA. One of the last flings before school starts proper, huh.

And I signed up for Jazz Club and Street Dance trials without knowing what I was in for! I'll have to perform 2 jazz songs, one of which I completely don't know haha, and for dance I'll have to freestyle for like 4 bars or something. Luckily I still have 2 Mondays of jazz class before the trial (:

All of this because I don't feel like joining band again. Lol. Well, here's to working towards trying something new. Wow. That sounded complicated!

Should I do something (like Math -.-) or continue slacking for a little longer? Haha.

The fountain at a park in Spain.
Pure gold. I've never seen something like it!

MY INTERVIEW IS OVER!

The interviewers made me feel quite confortable, so I'm really thankful about that. And there were the others who were also waiting to go in (and all freaking out in their own ways) who made it all kind of like a shared experience. (Ok that sounded cheem.) No, but really, it wasn't as unnerving with others there feeling unnerved too. Haha.

Well, I am crossing my fingers now (:

I am so much more relaxed now :D :D Before this I was feeling so ultra stressed, but now, I can finally chill a little and enjoy the time before school starts, like for REAL. Plus i don't have school tomorrow, AND Thursday. Whoohoo! Long story as to why, but it's a much-needed break indeed.

Thank you Lord for giving me peace.

My interview is tomorrow.
I AM REAAAAALLY NERVOUS ABOUT IT!!!!! Sometimes I feel pretty confident, and then the next moment I'm thinking, Oh no shucks what if I screw it.

These few days have been pretty tiring and I think I've been stressed up about this interview, trying to think about certain things I'm gonna say and reading up about current affairs as well as my essay topic. I tell you, I'll be so much more relaxed after tomorrow man.

On a happier note, I got the kayaking elective I signed up for! :D And I didn't get the one-hour Econs one on Thursday whoohoo! (I'd have to go back to school just for it, you see.) I didn't get FOSL either, but I don't think I'm gonna sign up for another date. Not now, at least.

Today was CCA Open House in RJ.

There wasn't really anything interesting to see except the CCA booths. Zhenyi told me that band needs horns, but I really am not that keen on joining band again. I feel like trying something new! But I think I'll just go for band prac on Saturday to see how it is though. Haha.

There are soooo many CCAs but only a few interest me. But I was at the sports area and came across pretty interesting stuff. Canoeing seems really fun (although xiong) and flying's just something really intriguing though the place where they train (ie Seletar) is extremely out of the way and they have lessons on Saturday and Sunday. But the best thing is that such an expensive vocation is free! Entirely government-sponsored, so they say. And sailing doesn't require prior experience :O

So now I have a few CCAs in mind and I'm quite certain about what I don't want. What I'm dreading is going for all those trials and selections. Totally makes me feel like I'm going through Sec 1 all over again haha! But my main aim for CCA in JC is really to have fun and a challenge and just to do something that I really really enjoy doing and will not regret later on :D

Dang I wish I hadn't signed up for that stupid Econs elective! That's the only thing I'd have to go back for that day. I'm hoping and praying that I don't get it.

Wow switching back to having lots of stuff to do and school mode is really, really a HUUUUGE challenge. And there's HP interview next week :O

title: You are good, all the time :D

We had our first Crossover session of the year and third service today.

Crossover was actually quite a success because a substantial number turned up and they had fun :D Which is great because our main fear was that all of them would find it boring, plus we had to connect (haha Connect!) with them which isn't easy. But faith and prayer definitely pay off man! And we actually did get to know the rest slightly better, not forgetting the yummy, old-school round sugar-coated donuts (which were the prizes) that I like which cost 10 cents per donut :D I hope everything will go well for the rest of the year, for us and for them too (:

Haha. E3 (lol) went well too! I'm just so not used to the new Joshua hall and the synthetic drumset. I like the REAAAL stuff :D But oh well, the music doesn't really matter as much as who we're doing it for right (: And I still prefer the old Josh hall 'cause it's more cosy. But other than those things it was nice to see faces other than Crossover at the service!

Sometimes we are apprehensive about all these things because they are out of our comfort zones. But I suppose they might all have turnouts that we never imagined! (:

Oh yeah, on Friday I woke up early just to swim. Like 6-something early. I can't believe I did that and I was seriously thinking of changing my mind when I first opened my eyes but I did it! Lol. 'Cause my parents swim before my dad has to go off to work so I just decided I w0uld follow. HAHAHA.

Batch chalet was fun! :D

Although we didn't really have any hard and fast plans it was fun just chilling out together after not having seen each other for a while. Pearlyn and Julia organised something of a scavenger hunt yesterday in White Sands. I normally avoid White Sands 'cause I find it awfully boring, but yesterday we had quite a lot of fun there. HAHA.

Oh yes. There are a few so-called important things that I did hahaha! I finally went cycling for the first time this holidays at Pasir Ris Park. I tried KFC's black pepper chicken. Good, and friggin' spicy! I (with my scavenger hunt groupmates) made salad in the chalet. We couldn't finish the salad and someone shoved it into the freezer as there wasn't space in the fridge below. So in the morning it was frozen solid! :O HAHAHA.

I hope all of us will still remain really close as a batch next, I mean, this year, what with JC and not being in the same CCA all together anymore and all that.

Jolyn and Julia playing Tap Tap Revenge.

Biking in the park.
Sam! The shots we took here were really nice (:

Some of the scenery in Pasir Ris Park is really nice too!
I like this!

Ha ha.
One of the few shots that Jolyn was actually capture-able. Haha! Maybe it's the way we aimed the camera. Or maybe it's just her >)
Ooh. Just got an email from RJ regarding school starting ):

HIYA!

AH the day when school starts is drawing near. I still don't know anything about going back to school. Like buying school uniform and the like, because no one told us. :O I still don't understand why RJ is making us go back so much earlier than the others who took O levels ): ): I must make the most of my one week plus left! But anyway, I shan't dwell on this. Haha.

Met up with my primary school friends on Friday night. It was more fun than I thought it would be, although we didn't do much. It was (I think) the first gathering we've had in a few years. Lol!

We met up with Wendy yesterday to talk about cell stuff, and apprehensive as I am about whether I can manage it all and reach out to the younger kids and stuff, what with the new year and JC and HP and maybe keyboard, I'm pretty excited about it too (: But I believe He will bring me through it; it's all a matter of whether I let Him or not. Later we went over to Jeremy's place till the night to hang out haha.

Tomorrow's batch chalet! :D I really can't wait to catch up with my batchmates; haven't seen them for almost the entire holidays since school closed :O And lately there's been a lot of things happening and so much to tell each other.

:D :D :D
